I’m broadly interested in studying the ecology of resilience to climate change and linking it to applied management and conservation. I plan to examine the ecophysiological ramifications of anthropogenic stressors such as ocean acidification, warming, and hypoxia in kelp forest and other nearshore communities, and how these organismal-level effects scale up to alter ecosystem functioning. I will utilize field and laboratory experiments, oceanographic monitoring, and meta-analyses to address these questions, while evaluating management and restoration solutions.
